Firstly Nick’s quote was competitive and he also offered a lot of practical advice, which was very helpful for a couple not very experienced with building work. All the people Nick employs were unfailingly polite, friendly and helpful and I was more than happy for any or all of them to be in the house unsupervised. They all made a big effort to leave the house tidy at the end of the day and made every attempt to keep disruption to a minimum. Nick was always contactable to discuss progress, either at the house or on the phone, and there were no hidden costs or surprises at the end. “Blackthorne Building fitted a new bathroom whilst also accommodating structural changes to the layout of the property. The work by Nick and the sub-contractors was carried out to a high standard and any required changes due to limitations in the building were discussed in advance. There were also a number of suggestions that we were able to take on board to enhance both the look and the performance of the bathroom. We were more than happy to leave keys with Nick for access which made things a lot easier. In addition Nick was able to sort out a few ad-hoc problems, namely clearing a blocked drain that was due to be inspected and arranging for doors to be hung elsewhere in the property. I, too, have had work done by this company, they completely refurbished my kitchen. I, of course, wanted the impossible but Nick was very patient and made suggestions which enabled me to have the work done as close to my dreams as possible.
